Be Informed: During your examination, an Inra-Oral camera is used, to assist with the examination. This is a very small camera located in the end of a small wand. It is small enough to be placed in the mouth with no discomfort at all. The area being examined is magnified 40 times and the image is viewed on a TV monitor. By using this camera, both the Dentist and the Patient are able to see any problems in the tooth. By doing this the patient can feel comfortable and confident in the doctors findings and explanations.
No Mystery: Intra-Oral Camera shows aged, leaking (decaying) filling. Pictures show before the work begins and after it is restored to an esthetically pleasing tooth, using a composite (white) Filling.
| Before: An old amalgam (silver/mercury) filling that has leaked with age , and caused decay under the filling.
| After: Restored tooth, using new (white/composite) filling materials. Tooth is both esthetically pleasing and has been bonded, resulting in 80% to 90% of the original strength restored. |
The Intra-Oral Camera Shows: Cracked and leaking (decaying) filling. Pictures showing before work, during work, and restored to a esthetically pleasing tooth using a porcelain inlay.
Before: Amalgam (silver/mercury) filling with both leakage and cracking. |
During: Amalgam (silver/mercury) filling has been removed using both the dental drill and Air Abrasion, (a "drilless" method) of removal. |
After: A new Porcelain Inlay was placed, to restore the remaining tooth structure. |
